FLORILEGIUM PAINTINGS
Founded in 1907, the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary is located in the heart of Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is the oldest public wildflower garden in the United States and encompasses fifteen acres of woodland, wetland and prairie ecosystems. It is operated by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. The garden has more than 500 species and the Florilegium will include a total of 130 paintings. As of November 2013, thirty-seven paintings have been completed, and several more are in process. Works are juried into the exhibition and all paintings are by students and instructors of the Minnesota School of Botanical Art. Below is a sampling.
